Gear Room Tour

Updated: Mar 30, 2023

A much requested gear room tour! Come and have a gander...

Hello mates! Welcome to my little gear room, let me show you around...

As you walk into the room on the left I have my chest of drawers with 2 x Thermarest Z-Lites stashed underneath. Stashed to the right-hand side is my walking poles and stashed to the left is a larger water container for car camping...

On top of the chest of drawers I have my guidebook collection and a hand painting that I bought in Namche Bazaar whilst on the Everest Base Camp trek...

So let's have a look in the drawers themselves... in the top drawer I have -

In the next drawer down is all of my cooking equipment -

In the bottom drawer is my MSR Hubba NX Tent (as loosly packed as possible), Sea to Summit ultralight sleeping pad and some Sea to Summit dry bags....

At the other end of my room is my clothes rail and some storage baskets. The clothes rail houses all of my jackets, midlayers and shoes. On the right I have hanging my Thermarest Hyperion sleeping bag in its storage bag and my climbing harness and on the left is my climbing helmet...

So lastly, let's take a look at the storage baskets...

On the top of the unit I have lots of gas (I just took a re-stock ready for the upcoming season!) and then on the top shelf I have various Nikwax gear cleaning products together with my Silva compass, Mountain Leader Training pacing card and whistle....

On the next shelf down is some dry-food items that I use for camping - some Firepot and Real Turmat meals, Supernoodles, Quaker porridge pots and some mini Robinsons juice....

On the third shelf down is some Smidge (midge repellant), Sea to Summit Wilderness Wash, foot creams & talc, Savlon, Deuce trowel, Hot Hands Handwarmers, Berocca, mini toothpaste and some zip-lock bags...

And lastly, on the bottom shelf is some other little odds and ends - Gorilla tape, padlocks, MSR pole repair kits, basic first-aid kit and some Tenacious Tape animal repair patches...

My packs and ice axe are stored in a bit of a sorry state at the moment, hung on the back of my door, I do keep meaning to get some hooks....

Thank you so much for joining me on a little tour of my gear room! Speak soon, mates xxx
