TERMS & CONDITIONS

All bookings are subject to the following terms and conditions, please read these carefully -

1. All outdoor activities can be hazardous with a risk of personal injury and death. By booking an event you are aware and accept these risks and will be responsible for your own actions and involvement.

2. You must be fit enough to participate in the event you have booked onto. You must disclose any ongoing medical conditions.

3. I strongly recommend that you take out personal accident and travel insurance when booking that will cover you in the event of you having to cancel your trip for any reason. This will allow you to recover payments if you have to cancel and the circumstances of your cancellation are covered by the insurance contract.

4. Hiker Heather events do not include personal accident, cancellation, third party liability or personal insurance. We therefore recommend that you take out your own policy.

5. Hiker Heather will accept no responsibility whatsoever in respect of loss or damage to personal property.

6. Hiker Heather reserves the right to modify or alter the planned route due to weather conditions, trails closures or other unforeseen circumstances.

7. Cancellation by Hiker Heather - Whilst every attempt is made to ensure that advertised events actually run, Hiker Heather will notify the client of cancellation as soon as possible where it believes on reasonable grounds that cancellation is necessary due to dangerous and/ or unsuitable conditions for the event activity. In the unlikely event that Hiker Heather has to cancel your event, you will be offered either a full refund or an alternative date. Hiker Heather will not be liable for any travel or accommodation related expenses.

8. Cancellation by the client - I do not accept refunds. Where possible, you will be offered an alternative date or event. For expeditions events, see below.

9. By participating in one of our events, you consent to the use of any photographs or videos taken during the event for promotional purposes unless you notify us in writing.

 

EXPEDITION EVENTS ONLY

In addition to the above, all expedition events are also subject to the following –

a) A non-refundable deposit is payable in the sum of £100.00 upon booking;

b) The remaining balance must be paid 90 days before the start date;

c) In the event that the event is not paid in full 90 days prior to the event commencement date Hiker Heather reserves the right to treat the booking as cancelled by the client and reserves the right to re-sell the event place accordingly.

d) For cancellation by the client -

  • The initial deposit is non-refundable

  • If full payment is made in advance for the event and the client wishes to cancel and gives at least 90 days notice then the full payment will be refunded less the initial non-refundable deposit

  • If notice is 89 days or less then no refund will be given.
